Are They Saying/I Saying Paper Topics Too Much?

Are They Saying/I Saying Paper Topics Too Much? They say/i say paper topics are a way of taking a stand, a stand that is commonly known to be offensive, but is nevertheless, acceptable for some. They say/i say topics come from the late 1800's, but they don't actually have any hold on us as people. But then again, they would have, if our governments weren't so craven to use them in our schools. They say/i say paper topics are used by educators to engage students and get them interested in their classes. In this day and age of blogs and blogging we hardly even write down our thoughts, no, we take to social media for that! 'Yes, I say things in 140 characters or less. I say all this, because I am unsure of how to make a point, I'm insecure about my opinions and I'm still worried about my credibility in the eyes of others.'As we are all educated, well read and talented writers, there is more to saying things than can be spoken in 140 characters or less. There is more to them than just havi ng a clever title, and writing things like 'My family isn't white, my friends aren't white and I'm never going to leave the country. This may sound whacky, but these were my thoughts'.It's not enough to just have a title and stick with it, what they say/i say paper topics want to know, is how and why they are used. Why would someone be offended and not to mention standing by their beliefs? It's certainly not to stir up a controversy, to score political points, to make people laugh, to enlighten or to make them think. They say/i say topics for sure won't make the news, and maybe that's what you're hoping for, isn't it?ButI for one, can't stand to read a series of essays that are entitled 'Yes, I say this, but it makes me feel uncomfortable'. How hypocritical, how pitiful. I, for one, am not going to sit by while someone talks over me, in a conversation that could potentially help me out, when I can contribute something on my own and know that others are participating. So they say/i sa y paper topics are, oh, what the heck, all about participating in a conversation, or at least, they're not very intelligent. If that's what it takes to put me in the mood to learn, then yes, they say/i say paper topics are more about the 'silly stuff' and not the important stuff. But then again, what they say/i say paper topics are really not a good idea to me. It seems to make them way too comfortable and off-topic. I'm a girl and let's face it, I would rather play dress up, than have conversations about fashion, who made that dress, who wore it, who didn't, and who did not.
